UMW News BureauThe Montana Western rodeo team competes this weekend at the MSU-Northern fall rodeo in Havre, Mont. By Wally Feldt The Montana Western rodeo team travels to Havre, Mont. for the Montana State-Northern fall rodeo on Friday, Sept. 18 through Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009. On Friday there is a 7 p.m. performance. The slack is Saturday at 8 a.m. followed by a 5 p.m. performance. The top ten in each event will compete on Sunday starting at 10 a.m. The Bulldogs opened their season in Cody, Wyo. last weekend. The men’s team took second in both Northwest College rodeos and are currently in second place in the regional team standings. Wyatt Smith, the reigning CNFR (College Nationals Finals) all-around champion, leads the region in saddle bronc riding. The Bulldog women’s team took second in the first Northwest College rodeo, first in the second and lead the regional team standings. Montana Western cowgirl Bailee Jo Thompson leads the region in goat tying.
